The selectmen met on Wednesday at 4 p.m. for what turned out to be a short meeting. Nancy Holmes was appointed Deputy Town Treasurer to serve the same term sequence as Mary Leavitt who is the town’s treasurer. The selectmen signed the paperwork from the Bank of NH giving them the use of TANS funds ($400,000) should they be needed. The fixed interest rate is 2.2% for the term of 7/1/16 to 12/31/16. There was some discussion of the Conservation Committee’s use of funds from the Land Trust for a well on the farmland in the Albany Forest. According to the selectmen the money was given to the Committee for water and electricity for the forest. Shortly thereafter the selectmen closed their meeting and moved to the Planning Board room to continue their work session. They used that room to take advantage of the screen there so that everyone could follow the material they were working on. Among the items they covered were rules of procedure for motions, public comment, public complaints and suggestions, keys and security ideas, and amendment procedures. The selectmen will hold their next work session on Wednesday, July 6 at 4 p.m. This like all sessions is open to the public.
The Selectmen’s Office will be closed from July 4 through July 8. The Clerk/Tax Collector’s office will be closed July 4.

World Fellowship: If you have not read last Saturday’s exclusive on the 75th anniversary of World Fellowship, do find a copy or go on-line to read it. It’s worthwhile to learn what the Fellowship is all about. Today the Fellowship is under the direction of Andy Davis and Andrea Walsh. Check out the program they are offering this summer and stop by to see what’s going on. Many of the programs are open to the public and are free. You’ll be pleasantly surprised, I think. For example Sunday July 3 at 7:30 p.m. Witness for Peace delegates report on Cuba. On July 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tanya Greene, a NYC based attorney, will speak on Whither the Death Penalty? An American Horror Story. Tuesday, July 5 NOVA Science Editor, Evan Hadington, discusses Climate Change, Ancient and Modern at 7:30 p.m. This is just a small sampling. Gibson Center: Crafts and Artisan Festival will be
on the lawn July 2-4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be no lunch on Monday, July 4. Join friends for Game Day on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. Play cards or board games. Sign up (356-3231) for your One to One half hour computer instruction with Deborah Tibbetts on July 7 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and/or for the Greek Festival trip to Saco, Maine on Friday, June 8. There will be Greek food, music and dancing.
Library: The library is closed Monday for the holiday. On Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. it’s Story Time for Twos, and Wednesday at that time it’s Story Time for Wee Ones. At 4 p.m. there’s Yoga for Everyone. Thursday at 10:30 a.m. it’s Story Time for Threes and Fours. At 3 p.m. the Family Garden Club meets. At 6 p.m. there’s introduction to 3D Printing.
UNH Extension: Youth between 5-17 years old who are interested in rabbits are invited to join a new 4-H Rabbit Club. The main focus will be the proper care, showing and breeding of these pets. Steve Knox, chair of the county’s Farm Committee, continues working hard to come up with ideas for the use of the farm.
Condolences to the family of Lawrence Siebert who recently passed away. He loved his home in Passaconaway where he felt as one with nature.
