For those who cannot make the Wednesday Selectmen’s Meetings, you can always check out what went on by going to albanytownmeetings.com.  Hundreds of people have taken advantage of this method of keeping up with all the Albany boards as well.  Of course, you can always get an abbreviated look at what went on at the selectmen’s meeting right here.

Road Agent, Curtis Coleman was at Wednesday’s selectmen’s meeting to discuss the roadwork that he plans for the rest of the year. As previously reported there are two red listed bridges in Albany. According to Curtis, any road listed as 3 ton is automatically on this list, thus the reason the Albany Covered Bridge is listed. Curtis says the bridge is fine.  Once the logging in the area is complete, he will paint the inside of the bridge that has graffiti. The Drake Hill Road bridge is another issue. This is an old bridge (built in 1921) that was last fixed twenty years ago. There are some rebar problems that need attention. With regard to roads, there is work to be done. He plans to repave Old Colony Road and do some patchwork on Passaconway Road. Then once the logging is done in 2017 major work will be attempted. There are plans to do grading and refilling of cracks on Bald Hill Road. This summer most of the town will be swept and patched where necessary. More serious work will require funding and that will likely be something on the town budget for next year.

Selectman Hiland proposed updating the town website by using a new company. He suggested having a representative from Virtual Town and Schools attend a selectmen’s meeting to present their proposal.
